This past Wednesday, September 7th 2011, Austin had its first vBeers. I was surprised at the turnout and the number of new folks I met. A good portion of the Dell Tech Center crew was there, as well as folks from Dell in general, Home Depot, VMware, and Quest, to name a few. Everyone was warm and conversational, and I’m very happy to be part of such a vibrant and cool virtualization community in Austin.
I haven’t yet finalized plans for the next one, but I would imagine sometime in the next 30-60 days would be appropriate. This time I’ll be sure to coordinate with Opal Divine’s Marina, too. They were very kind in accommodating a large (and thirsty) group, but made it clear that they’re at their best when they can plan ahead to have open spaces for conversation, etc.
Thanks again to everyone that stopped by, it was great talking to you and nice to meet you!
